We are kicking off this week with announcements regarding our 2nd International Strasburg Film Festival. Our first announcement revolves around how excited we are to be featuring Gundermann, which will play during our Friday Evening Showcase at Box Office Brewery.
The movie deals with the real life story of East German singer and writer Gerhard Gundermann and his struggles with music, life as a coal miner and his dealings with the secret police (STASI) of the German Democratic Republic. Having recieved a 7.4 / 10 from over 991 raitings on IMDb , it’s been stated as “a sweet story of a gifted man and musician. The writer and director should be commended for interweaving a complicated love story, of a conflicted but quiet man within an historical period that helps define Germany today.”
