This week we will examine what really makes a great comedy. This is usually our lowest submitted category in the two years that we’ve been hosting an international film festival. I think that’s due to the fact that it’s really difficult to make someone laugh. Plus, not every person will find something funny.
And, when someone tries too hard to be funny, they’re usually way off-script. I feel like creating humor is a gift.
That’s what makes our three film analysts so uniquely talented. They each are highly intelligent and bring their own deep dive into different aspects of film.
When I first set off to develop this specific internship, I wanted to find different voices and backgrounds who are not afraid to offer their thoughts on the film industry.
You might not agree with everything they say, but I feel like you should take the time to understand their viewpoints.
