Strasburg Film Festival short Constance (The Symphony of Kisses) follows the titular Constance, a beautiful painter who finds herself consumed by loneliness. One morning she receives a birth announcement from her good friend. Realizing how lonely she truly is, Constance decides to make her mind up about men in an unexpected way.
After being a TV host for channel Canal Plus in France, Gaffie directed 6 films, among them : 20 Meters of Love in Montmartre that was screened in 60 festivals around the world. Also : The Dolphin Skin City (best drama at the Media FF, Pennsylvania, 2016), or Relativity Explained to Children.
With A Symphony of Kisses, I wanted to express the mysterious aspect of love, and the alchemy required. I know it may sound a plain statement, but I wanted to show it in an unexpected way. Constance, the main character, tapes “traps” men by recording their kisses. Behind the comedy style (a little disturbing maybe), lies a real purpose: how to find the perfect mate, and become a mother!
